Teenage Suspects Arrested For Murder in St James

Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Teenage Suspects Arrested: Detectives attached to the Freeport station in Montego Bay, St James have taken two teenaged boys into custody in connection with the murder of a market vendor in Over River District on Saturday night.

Mckoys News also learnt that one of the teenagers now in custody had to be treated at the Cornwall Regional Hospital for a wound to his head which was inflicted by the now deceased vendor.

Reports are that the deceased, 61-yr-old Rudyan Bingham, Vendor of Over River District in Orange Bay and his wife operates a large stall at the Charles Gordon Market. About 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, he and his wife had just returned home from the market with an undetermined some of money in their possession. The couple had just reached the yard when they were ambushed by the two gunmen. One gunman held the couple at gunpoint and ordered money while the other man started to relieve them of the cash.

Bingham immediately grabs hold of one of the gunmen and use a large stone to inflict a wound to his head. The other armed robber fired one shot hitting him to the regions of his chest. The gunmen then ran from the yard with the cash and made their escape in the area on foot.

An alarm was raised and the wounded man was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Teenage Suspects Arrested: Quick actions by the police led to the arrest of both teenagers in connection with the murder.
