Teen Arrested in Gruesome Family Massacre


Belen, New Mexico – A 16-year-old boy is facing four counts of first-degree murder after allegedly killing his entire family early Saturday morning.

Valencia County Sheriff’s Office received a chilling 911 call around 3:30 a.m. from Diego Leyva, who confessed to the gruesome act.

Upon arrival on the scene, deputies found Leyva highly intoxicated and compliant. He was taken into custody without incident.

Inside the residence, authorities discovered the bodies of four family members: Leonardo Leyva (42), Adriana Bencomo (35), Adrian Leyva (16), and Alexander Leyva (14). All victims appeared to have suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

Leyva was transported to a local hospital for detoxification and was subsequently booked into the Juvenile Justice Center in Albuquerque.
