Taxi Operator who Engaged Police in High-Speed Chase in St Andrew, Arrested and Charged

Latest Jamaica News, St Andrew (McKoy’s News): A taxi operator was arrested and charged by the police on Tuesday, October 1, after he engaged the police in a daring high-speed chase in St Andrew, while committing several breaches of the road traffic act.

He has been identified as 46-year-old Dwight Roach of Hyde Park in Kingston 11.

Reports are that about 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the police stopped Roach on South Camp Road in Kingston 5, after he was observed obstructing traffic.

He was asked to come from the vehicle and produce his license and motor vehicle documents, but he sped away. The police gave chase and about half hour later, Roach was cornered along Anderson Road in Allman Town.

While being placed into custody, Roach again ran from the scene and had to be chased by the officers. He was later cornered on foot in the area.

He was placed into custody and charged in connection with multiple traffic breaches. He is booked to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on November 4.
