The St Elizabeth police have released the name of a man who they say is the prime suspect in the chopping death of a 67-year-old taxi operator, at a house along Cameron Hill, St Elizabeth, on Sunday, September 29.

The suspect has been named as DeAndre Williams, otherwise called ” Kadene” of Cameron Hill, and he is sought in connection with the murder of Stafford Wright, who resides at Heslop Avenue, in Kingston 2.

Reports by the Black River police are that. Wright travelled to St Elizabeth, from Kingston to evict Williams, who is a cousin, from his house in Cameron Hill.

About 3:25 p.m., on Sunday, residents hear cries for help coming from the house in Cameron Hill, and Williams was later allegedly seen running from the building.

The residents went to investigate and stumbled upon the taxi man’s body, which was lying in the bedroom of the house with multiple chop wounds.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for a post mortem examination.

Williams has not to be seen or heard from since.
