Student Threatened to Kill Self, After Taxi Driver Attempted to Rape Her

Latest Jamaica News, Trelawny (McKoy’s News): A Trelawny taxi operator who attempted to rape a student at a location in the parish on Friday March 6, was arrested and charged by the Falmouth police.

The accused, 35-year-old Rayon Cole, taxi operator of Peel Street in Trelawny, was charged with Assault with Intent to rape.

Reports are that about 9:00 p.m., Cole was transporting the female student reportedly took her to an isolated location, and attempted to have sex with her against her will.

The student then informed him that she was going to commit suicide if she was raped, and upon hearing this Cole reportedly stopped, and then drove from the scene.

A report was made to the police and following an investigation, Cole was arrested and subsequently charged.
