Jamaica Crime News, St James: Taxi Operator Murdered A popular taxi operator was shot and killed by unknown assailants at Summer Hill district, in Point, St James, on Thursday night, March 7.

He has been identified as 41-year-old Hilroy Hylton also of Summer Hill district.

Reports by the Spring Mount police are that about 10:30 p.m. on Friday, residents living in Summer Hill district heard gunshots being fired in their community and alerted the police.

The lawmen rushed to the scene and upon their arrival, Hylton was seen lying in a pool of blood, with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Our news team learnt that the deceased had just parked the vehicle which he used to operate as a taxi, and was walking home along a dirt track when he was ambushed by armed men.

The scene was processed and the body later pronounced dead at hospital.
