St. James, Jamaica (McN) St James Records First Murder of 2017

The parish of St. James Recorded its first murder of 2017 on Sunday January 1st. The victim who was stabbed to death by his Stepson has been identified as Keith Robinson, 47 Years-Old Laborer of Barnett Bush in the Spring Mount area.

In the meanwhile the police say the accused, who is the victim’s Stepson, who is said to also be mentally challenged has been taken into custody.

Reports are that about 11:30 pm, the accused and the victim weer both at home when the mentally challenged Stepson went to use the bathroom. After he was finished, it caused a foul odor in the house and both men got involved in an argument.

During the argument the accused used a knife to stab his Stepfather, who collapsed. The Spring Mount Police were alerted. Upon arrival the wounded man was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, were he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The Stepson was subsequently arrested.
