The swift and decisive response of the St. James Police led to the seizure of two illegal firearms following a brazen attempted robbery along Church Street in Montego Bay on Monday, October 27.
Reports are that about [time not stated], lawmen were alerted to the area after receiving information about men attempting to rob a location along the busy thoroughfare. Upon the arrival of the police, the men reportedly opened gunfire at them. The officers took evasive action and returned the fire.
When the shooting subsided, two firearms were seized. However, the gunmen managed to escape into nearby sections of the community.
A strong police presence remains in the area as investigators continue their probe into the incident.
