St James Police Release Identity of Man Murdered in Salt Spring

Latest Jamaica News, St James (McKoy’s News): Detectives attached to the Montego Hills police station have released the identity of a man who was shot and killed by gunmen in Salt Spring, St James, about 12:00 midday, on Tuesday, September 17.

He has been identified as 56-year-old Samuel Salmon, a Mason who hailed from Salt Spring community.

Reports by the police are that about 12:00 noon yesterday, Salmon went to visit a friend at a section of the Salt Spring community, called “Supermarket”.

Salmon was standing on the premises having a conversation with the other man, when he was attacked by two men armed with handguns, who shot him multiple times before escaping in the area on foot.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, Salmon was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
