A taxi driver is in hospital battling for his life while others are being treated for lesser injuries, following a horrific motor vehicle accident in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth late Saturday evening.
Reports are that, a grey taxi which plies the Junction to Santa Cruz route, slammed into another unit in the vicinity of Horizon Park. 
Locals who were quick on the scene managed to prise the injured persons from the mangled wreck and rushed them to hospital.
The cause of the accident is not yet known.
Just last week the National Road Safety Council revealed that accidents were on the decline on the nation’s streets and less Jamaicans had died so far this year when compared to the same period last year.
