St Elizabeth, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The Santa Cruz police say they are now in search of a man who ran away from the police, leaving behind an illegal firearm at a section of the area on Wednesday evening, April 11.

Reports by the police are that about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a team of officers attached to the Santa Cruz police station, were carrying out patrol duties along a section of Slipe Road in the area, when they saw a man attending to the engine of a motor cycle.

Upon seeing the lawmen approaching, the man got up and fled the scene leaving the motor cycle and a black plastic bag behind.

A search of the plastic bag led to the seizure of a .38 revolver.

The illegal weapon and the motor cycle were both taken to the Santa Cruz police station.
