St Catherine’s Most Wanted Suspect Among Two Killed in Police Operation

St Catherine, Jamaica — Two police officers were shot this morning during an operation in West Prospect, St Catherine, aimed at apprehending one of the parish’s most wanted criminals.

The operation led to a firefight in which two suspects, identified as Peter Davis, also known as ‘Devil,’ and Tavani Benjamin, were fatally shot. Davis was among St Catherine’s top five most wanted men, while Benjamin was a person of interest in a murder case.

During the operation, which commenced around 5:15 a.m. based on intelligence, three firearms were recovered. Both officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the exchange of gunfire and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The police continue to investigate the incident and urge anyone with additional information to come forward.
