Police have charged a 35-year-old St Catherine farmer with the murder of a 21-year-old bus conductor who was fatally stabbed during an alleged altercation in Spanish Town last year.
Veral Morris, otherwise called “Maio,” has been charged with the murder of Ricardo Powell, also known as “Red Bull,” of Portmore, St Catherine.
Morris, who was wanted by the police, was arrested by members of the St Mary Police Division in the Fort Stewart District on Sunday and subsequently escorted to St Catherine.
He was charged on Monday following a question-and-answer session with investigators.
Police allege that about 5:45 p.m. on November 11, 2025, Morris and Powell were involved in an altercation along White Church Street in Spanish Town.
Morris is accused of using a knife to stab Powell multiple times to his upper body before fleeing the scene.
Powell was assisted to the Spanish Town General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Morris is now facing a murder charge as investigations continue. The allegations against him have not been tested in court.
