St Catherine, Jamaica – A Spanish Town labourer has been charged with multiple serious offences after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home, raping her, and stealing cash and cell phones during a terrifying early morning attack.
The accused has been identified as Jevorn Miller, otherwise called ‘Jev’, of Heartlands, Spanish Town. He has been charged with burglary, assault at common law, robbery with aggravation, rape, and grievous sexual assault.
Reports from the Spanish Town police are that around 2:30 a.m. on June 6, the victim was asleep at home when she was awoken by Miller, who had allegedly entered through a broken window.
He reportedly forced her to perform sexual acts, then made off with two cellular phones and approximately $50,000 in cash.
The matter was reported and an investigation launched. Miller was later arrested and positively identified during an ID parade.
His court date is being finalised as investigations continue.
