ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — An early-morning police operation in Portmore on Saturday led to the seizure of an illegal firearm and ammunition and the arrest of three persons.
Reports are that about 5:00 a.m., members of the Special Operations Unit went to Portsea Drive in Portsmouth, Portmore, where they conducted a search of a premises.
During the operation, the cops reportedly found a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol wrapped in a towel, fitted with a magazine containing 16 rounds of ammunition. An additional four rounds were also discovered in a chest of drawers.
Two men, ages 24 and 32, and a woman, 35, who occupied the property, were taken into custody.
The police say the names of the suspects are being withheld pending further investigations.
