Port Antonio, Portland – A man and his sister have been charged with Bribery and Conspiracy to Bribe following a joint police operation in Naylors Hill, Port Antonio on Saturday, May 3. The charges stem from an incident involving an illegal firearm and an alleged attempt to bribe law enforcement officers.
Charged are 35-year-old Kemar Henry, a waiter of Naylors Hill, Port Antonio, and 39-year-old Ann-Marie Fuller, a school teacher from Stony Hill district, also in Portland.
According to reports, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a team from the Portland Specialized Operations Unit conducted a targeted operation at Henry’s residence. During a search of the premises, officers discovered a Taurus 9mm pistol with a magazine containing four 9mm rounds of ammunition.
Police allege that in a bid to avoid prosecution, Henry offered the officers cash and a cellular phone in exchange for his release. Law enforcement personnel subsequently initiated a covert operation to follow through with the bribe arrangement.
Later that evening, Fuller reportedly met her brother and the undercover officers at a service station, where she handed over JMD $150,000 and an iPhone 15 to Henry, who then transferred the items to the officers.
Both Henry and Fuller were immediately arrested and later charged jointly. Henry faces additional charges under the Firearms Act.
Their court date is yet to be finalised, and investigations are ongoing.
