ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica: Human Torso Found— Residents of Aberdeen in northern St Elizabeth are reeling after the discovery of a human torso in a remote section of the community on Thursday night.
According to preliminary reports, residents stumbled upon the gruesome find along a track in a bushy area about 9:00 p.m. and immediately alerted the police.
The remains have not yet been identified, and investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Councillor Audie Myers, who represents the Siloah Division, described the discovery as deeply disturbing, noting that the community is not known for high levels of violent crime.
“Because we are in an area where there is very low crime, it is really troubling and distasteful. The residents are concerned, and we don’t know who it is as yet,” Myers said.
He added that efforts are being made to determine whether anyone from the area has recently been reported missing, but so far no such reports have been made.
“We are trying to find out if there is anyone who went missing from the area, but there is no report about anybody being missing from any close proximity area,” he stated.
Myers expressed hope that investigators will swiftly uncover the truth behind the shocking discovery and bring those responsible to justice.
“I hope the police get to the bottom of this thing. I am deeply concerned and I hope the perpetrator will be held,” he said.
Police investigations are ongoing.
