Jamaican dancehall sensation and Grammy-nominated artist Shenseea has been announced as one of the featured performers on the official soundtrack for the highly anticipated Smurfs movie, set for release on July 18, 2025.
Her new track, It’s My Party, joins a powerful lineup of global music heavyweights including Rihanna, Tyla, Cardi B, and DJ Khaled. Rihanna, who also stars in the movie as the voice of Smurfette, contributes the track Friend of Mine, while South African breakout star Tyla delivers Everything Goes With Blue, adding to the diverse musical palette of the film.
The Smurfs soundtrack is slated for release on June 13, promising an eclectic mix of pop, dancehall, and Afrobeat influences. This latest achievement marks a milestone for Shenseea as she continues to expand her reach into international markets.
This is Shenseea’s third contribution to a major motion picture soundtrack. In 2024, she collaborated with Puerto Rican rapper Myke Towers on the energetic track Bam Bam for Bad Boys: Ride or Die, a song that paid tribute to the iconic Sister Nancy classic. That same year, she was also featured on the Bob Marley: One Love soundtrack, lending her voice to a stirring remake of No Woman No Cry. That album went on to win Best Reggae Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, further cementing her impact on global reggae and dancehall.
Her creative footprint extends beyond film. In 2023, she appeared alongside Grammy-winner Koffee on the FIFA 23 video game soundtrack with her hit single Run Run, proving her crossover appeal to both music and gaming audiences.
Shenseea’s inclusion in the Smurfs project places her alongside some of the most influential names in entertainment and reflects her ongoing evolution as a versatile, internationally respected artist. From dancehall roots in Jamaica to major Hollywood productions, she continues to carve a path as one of the Caribbean’s brightest stars.
