The full 21 members of the Senate have been named and will be sworn in today Tuesday, September 15, the same time the members of the house will take their oaths of allegiance.

The ceremony will take place at Jamaica Conference Centre, downtown Kingston,  that will allow social distancing not available at Gordon House where, traditionally the ceremony would normally take place.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness named 13 Government Senators on Monday and that was followed by the naming of eight Opposition Senators by the Leader of Opposition, Dr Peter Phillips.

There are to be 63 Members of the House of Representatives of Members of parliament (MP). It’s possible that because two magisterial recounts are continuing and may not end on time, only 61 MPs will be sworn in Tuesday.
