Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: Security Guards Arrested for Stabbing Death of Shopkeeper – The Sandy Bay police in Hanover, say they have now taken two security guards into custody, in connection with the stabbing death of a shopkeeper in Hopewell, Hanover on Wednesday, June 12.
The deceased has been identified as Miguel Brivette otherwise called “Muscle man” shopkeeper of Pond Piece, in Hopewell, Hanover.
Reports are that about 7:00 a.m., Brivette and the two security guards got involved in an argument, allegedly over music and a music system.
The argument escalated to a section of the Pond Piece main road, in the vicinity of the Hopewell Seventh Day Adventist Church, when they drew knives, and Brivette was stabbed multiple times.
Brivette fell to the ground and the two security guards jumped in a motor vehicle, which sped away.
Brivette died on the spot, and his body was later removed from the scene after the processing by the Sandy Bay police.
It is also reported that both accused later turned themselves in at the Sandy Bay police station.
