Police are investigating the unexplained disappearance of 24-year-old Moesha Zoey Hyatt and her boyfriend, a taxi operator whose vehicle was later discovered abandoned at a bus park in downtown Kingston.
Hyatt has not been seen since Friday, February 20. Concern escalated after the car her boyfriend used to operate public transportation was found deserted overnight, prompting fears that both individuals may be in danger.
Speaking in an interview with Nationwide News, Hyatt’s mother, Antonette Rose-Green, recounted the last known contact with her daughter. She explained that on the day Hyatt went missing, she collected her grandson from his grandfather and took him out to eat. While placing a food order, she attempted to call her daughter to confirm the child’s meal preference, but the call went unanswered. At the time, she said, there was no immediate cause for alarm.
That changed the following morning when she learned the taxi her daughter’s boyfriend had been driving was abandoned. Realizing something was wrong, Rose-Green reported the matter to the Olympic Gardens Police Station.
The mother disclosed that Hyatt had moved out of her boyfriend’s residence more than a month earlier, though he continued transporting her to work. She also noted that the boyfriend had been facing a traffic-related court matter and was required, as part of his bail conditions, to report regularly to the police. According to Rose-Green, he has not reported since February 13.
While she said she does not know the circumstances that led to the disappearance, Rose-Green indicated she has become aware of troubling incidents that have raised suspicions about the boyfriend’s possible involvement.
She is urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact 876-283-7024 or call the police emergency number at 119.
