An investigation is underway following a road traffic incident involving a Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) service vehicle and two children who were riding a bicycle in Cornwall Mountain, Westmoreland, on Tuesday.
The JDF said that its personnel, assisted by members of the local community, provided emergency aid at the scene. The children were later taken to a nearby medical facility for assessment and treatment.
One of the children required additional medical attention and was subsequently airlifted by the JDF Air Wing, according to the statement. No details were provided regarding the extent of the injuries.
The incident was reported to the Savanna-la-Mar Police Station, and the matter is being investigated by both the JDF and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in keeping with standard operating procedures. The JDF said it is fully cooperating with the police investigation.
