Review for CSEC extended, fee cut

The period for review of subjects sat in the Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate (CSEC) in July has been extended.  At the same time the cost for review per subject has been cut in half.

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) that administers the examination and also the CAPE, has extended the review period to November 6. The review was previously set to end October 23. The CXC also says the fee for the review of each subject entry will be cut from US$30 to US$15.

Following the publication of the results of the CSEC in September, hundreds of students in Jamaica have complained about the grades, saying they were low and did not reflect the work they did with their SBA’s and the multiple-choice exams.
