Montego Bay, Jamaica — Reggae Sumfest 2025 will pay homage to four of Jamaica’s most iconic voices during Festival Night Two on Saturday, July 19. A special segment titled Tribute to the Legends will celebrate the contributions of Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Jimmy Riley, and Cocoa Tea — all pioneers whose influence shaped the global sound of reggae music.
The tribute will take place during Tarrus Riley’s performance and is being positioned as a key highlight of the festival. Terence Wallen will perform the music of Gregory Isaacs, while Chester Miller will cover the classic hits of Dennis Brown. Their performances are expected to bring fresh life to the timeless music of the legends.
The timing of the event adds emotional resonance, coming just days after what would have been Gregory Isaacs’s 75th birthday. The tribute is part of Reggae Sumfest’s continued effort to honour the architects of Jamaican music while passing the torch to a new generation.
Tarrus Riley, returning to the Sumfest stage after nine years, will also honour his father, Jimmy Riley, as part of the tribute. His return to the festival where he was once brought as a child underscores the legacy and generational impact of reggae.
Chester Miller and Terence Wallen have both received acclaim for past performances and will now take the Sumfest stage to represent the legacies of two of reggae’s greatest vocalists. The night promises to be emotional, powerful, and deeply respectful of Jamaica’s rich musical heritage.
Reggae Sumfest 2025 continues to showcase the best of Jamaican music culture while honouring those who paved the way, creating moments that resonate far beyond the festival stage.
