Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Psychiatric Evaluation for Man who Allegedly Attempts to Strangle Wife: A man is before the court answering to various charges after he allegedly broke into his wife’s house and attempted to strangle her.
The incident reportedly took place sometime in June this year.
Devon Hudson, who is represented by attorney-at-law Henry McCurdy, faces charges of burglary, assault occasioning bodily harm, malicious destruction of property and breaches of Protection Order.
He was remanded to custody until August 9 for psychiatric evaluation after a brief appearance in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday.
Allegations are that sometime in June this year, Hudson, who is separated from his wife, journeyed to her home in Pitfour and gained entry while the woman was asleep. Whilst there, it is alleged that Hudson lit a fire before turning on the gas stove. But while he was about to leave, the woman awoke and Hudson went back inside the house and attempted to strangle her.
The matter was reported to the police and Hudson was arrested and charged.
On a previous occasion, the judge denied him bail on the basis that threats were allegedly being made to kill his wife and killing himself afterwards.
