Popular Promoter/Businessman “Father Fowl” Shot Dead in St Andrew

Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: Popular Kingston Promoter and businessman 61-year-old Owen Clarke, otherwise called “Father Fowl or Roy Fowl” is dead.

Clarke was reportedly shot and killed by two armed men travelling on motorcycles, during the wee hours of Saturday morning, February 23, along Kencot in St. Andrew.

Report are that shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, Clarke was in the process of leaving an event being held along Grove Road in Kencot, St Andrew, when two armed men rode up on motorcycles and sprayed him with bullets.

He collapsed beside his red Range Rover jeep and is said to have died on the spot.

Clarke was sent back to Jamaica from England few years ago, after spending over ten years in prison on drug-related charges.

In the early 1990s Clarke who was known worldwide as “Father Fowl or Roy Fowl” led a hype lifestyle from his English home in Sudbury North London home.

Father Fowl then came under the police radar to have been a drug lord, who the authorities say was behind a massive drug ring which operated out of the Caribbean to Britain.

The British law also accused Father Fowl of using females as drug mules to traffic crack cocaine, to and from the Caribbean.

Father Fowl was arrested for trafficking and possession of Crack Cocaine following a raid carried out at his posh residence in the early 2000.

He was convicted in the Shoresbrook Crown Court in June 2004 and sentenced to 13-years, but he immediately appealed the case and his sentenced was reduced to 11-years.
