Popular Fisherman Murdered in Negril

Montego Bay, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Popular Fisherman Murdered in NegrilA well-known fisherman was shot and killed by a lone gunman in Negril, Westmoreland on Monday morning of November 20th. The victim has been identified as 31-yr-old Randy Russell of Lot 611 Orchard Lane in White Hall Negril.

Reports by the Negril police are that about 5:20 a.m. on Monday, Russell and a female companion was returning home from a party which was held in the Negril area. On reaching a section of the same area they stopped at the Negril Craft Market where they were approached by a man. The man brandished a handgun and fired several shots hitting Russell to his upper body and then made his escape in the area on foot.

The Negril police were summoned and on arrival, the wounded fisherman was rushed to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
