Kingston, St. Andrew: A police officer is recovering in hospital after being injured in a hit-and-run incident in Half-Way Tree on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the officer attempted to stop a Toyota Probox motor car. Instead of complying, the driver allegedly accelerated, striking the officer and fleeing the scene.
The injured officer was transported to the Kingston Public Hospital where he is currently receiving medical treatment for injuries to his right leg.
The Half-Way Tree Police are actively investigating the matter and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
