Hanover, Jamaica: Police Seize Firearm and Ammunition – In a targeted operation conducted on Sunday, April 21, the Hanover Police made a significant discovery in Gravel Lane, Hopewell. Among the seized items were a Glock 19 pistol, two 9mm cartridges, a staggering one hundred and twenty-two 5.56 cartridges, along with five Glock magazines and two 5.56 magazines.
Law enforcement officers executed a thorough search at a premises in the area around 8:45 a.m., initially yielding no results. However, their persistence led them to conduct a secondary search at the rear of the property, where an open lot revealed a concealed knapsack containing the illicit items.
The occupant of the premises was promptly apprehended and taken into custody for further questioning as investigations continue into the origins and purpose of the seized firearm and ammunition.
This seizure underscores the commitment of the Hanover Police in addressing the proliferation of illegal firearms and ammunition within the parish, contributing to efforts to maintain public safety and security.
