Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- 122 Murdered In Westmoreland Since The Start Of The Year: The police in Westmoreland have reported that since the start of the year 2017, a total of 122 persons have been murdered in the parish.
Since the past two weeks, the parish has recorded more than a dozen killings, most of which have apparently stemmed from gang related incidents.
The Bethel Town, Negril, Savanna- la- mar, Frome, Grange Hill and Whithorne police, have all had their hands full to establish motives for these murders.
The police are now saying they have been forced to step up their presence, and increase patrols within a number of these communities.
The police are now calling on relatives and friends of these victims , and residents in the parish who can assist with information which could lead to the arrest of those responsible, to contact the nearest police station, the Savanna- La- Mar Station, 119 or Crime Stop.
