Police Probe Suspected Murder-Suicide After Couple Found Dead in Harbour View

Residents of Dorado Drive in Harbour View, East Kingston, were left stunned on Wednesday following the discovery of a man and woman believed to be involved in a murder-suicide.

The deceased have been identified as 53-year-old Morvine Thompson Palmer and her husband, 49-year-old Peat Palmer. Their bodies were discovered around 10:30 a.m. in the yard of their home, both lying in pools of blood.

Police reports indicate that Peat Palmer was found holding electrical wire, while his wife had visible wounds to her neck. The two were rushed to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Law enforcement officials say the matter is being investigated as a suspected murder-suicide, and inquiries are continuing.

Later in the day, as police removed crime scene tape and residents gathered nearby, a woman who said she was a close friend of Thompson Palmer shared her distress over the tragedy. She stated that the couple had been undergoing divorce proceedings, reportedly linked to disagreements over ownership of the property.

The couple had been married for over two decades and had lived at the Harbour View residence for more than ten years. They are survived by four sons.

Thompson Palmer was a paralegal by profession and also served as a justice of the peace. She was an active member of the Greater Grace Apostolic Temple in Harbour View, where she held the role of deacon and was known for her strong involvement in church and community activities.
