Authorities in Spanish Town have commenced investigations following the discovery of a retired policeman who was found unresponsive at his residence on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Edris Farquharson, a resident of Eltham Park in St Catherine.
Reports indicate that Farquharson contacted a friend on Sunday, complaining of back pain. Subsequent attempts to reach him were unsuccessful, raising concern among acquaintances.
Checks were later made at his home on Monday evening, where the property was observed to be securely locked with lights on inside. The police were alerted and gained entry to the premises, where Farquharson was discovered unresponsive in the kitchen area.
Investigators processed the scene, and the body was removed pending a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Farquharson, a former sergeant, previously served in the St Andrew North Police Division before retiring from active duty.
