Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Black River

St. Elizabeth, Jamaica – Police in St. Elizabeth are investigating the shooting death of a 36-year-old man in Black River last night. The deceased has been identified as Luke Hewitt, a labourer from Fyffes Pen in the parish.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Hewitt was reportedly involved in a disagreement with another man when the altercation turned violent. The attacker allegedly brandished a firearm and shot Hewitt multiple times.

Hewitt succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The suspect fled the area, and no arrests have been made so far.

The Black River Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is actively probing the murder as they work to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal confrontation.
