Police in Search of Men Involved in Shooting Death of Two Persons at River Heights, Tavern, St Andrew

Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: The St Andrew police say they are now seeking the public’s assistance to apprehend a group of men, who they say are behind the shooting of six persons, two of whom died at a shop located along section of River Heights in Tavern, St Andrew, known as River Bank.

Those killed have been identified as Lewis McDonald and Joval Wint, both of Tavern, St Andrew.

Reports are that about 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, Wint and McDonald were among a group of patrons at “River Bank” when they were ambushed by a group of men armed with high-powered rifles.

The gunmen opened fire hitting all six persons, including Wint and McDonald, before making their escape in the area.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the six wounded persons were rushed to hospital, where McDonald and Wint were pronounced dead. The four other victims were treated and admitted in serious conditions.
