ST. JAMES, Jamaica — A police constable was killed in a tragic accident in Unity Hall, St. James, on Wednesday, February 5.
The deceased has been identified as Constable Alfrado Newman, who was assigned to the Hanover Police Division.
Reports indicate that at approximately 8:25 a.m., he was riding his personal motorcycle along the Unity Hall main road when he collided with a motor car. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
The Police High Command has expressed deep sorrow over his passing and extended condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department are providing support to those affected. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
