Jamaica Crime News: Detectives attached to the Area 2 Criminal Investigation Branch are now reporting that a person of interest who was being sought in connection with the murder of two senior citizens at their home in Hope Bay Area of Portland on Friday evening of June 22nd has been taken into custody.
The police also stated that the suspect now in custody was picked up at a business establishment in Kingston on Saturday June 23rd. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
The victims have been identified as, Alfred Anderson otherwise called (Charlie), 75 year old and his wife Florence Anderson otherwise called (Gayle) both of Mount Pleasant in Hope Bay, Portland and London in England.
Reports are that, shortly after 1:30 pm, on Friday residents living in Mount Pleasant stumbled upon the bodies of the elderly couple lying in a pool of blood in their yard.
The police were alerted and upon arrival Mr. Anderson’s partially burnt body was discovered in the yard and his wife discovered a few chains away with multiple stab wounds. The scene was processed and the victims pronounced dead at hospital.
