One man was shot and killed, and two other men were shot and injured, after they were ambushed by a lone gunman at Red Square in Tucker, St. James, on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Nigel Smith, a laborer of Red Square district, also in Tucker. A 24-year-old man and a 55-year-old man, who were also shot and injured, were treated at Cornwall Regional Hospital and admitted.
Reports are that at about 9:00 p.m., the men were at a shop in Red Square when they were approached by a man who brandished a handgun and opened fire, hitting them.
The gunman made his escape on foot. The police were summoned, and the injured men, who were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds, were transported to the hospital.
Smith died while being treated, while the other two victims were treated and admitted in stable condition.
