Jamaica News: The Jamaica Urban Transit Company’s (JUTC) fleet of buses are to see marked improvement in performance with the implementation of an oil filtration system.
This as Cabinet has approved the award of a $251-million contract to Elhydron Incorporated for the provision of materials, technical professional advice, and to perform all operations for the implementation of Phase 1 of the Elhydro Kleenoil Bypass Filter System for JUTC buses.
Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator the Hon. Ruel Reid, made the announcement during a post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House on Wednesday (February 13).
The filter system, which enhances engine performance, is effective for internal combustion engines, hydraulic applications and automatic transmissions.
Kleenoil can eliminate water and particle contamination, extending oil life up to five times and hydraulic oil up to 10 times, reduce engine wear and component wear, and dramatically reduce downtime.
It is effective for vehicles utilised in industries such as construction, trucking, marine, mining, military, agriculture, automotive, and power generating.
In the meantime, Mr. Reid informed that Cabinet approved the award of $62.9 million for road rehabilitation and drainage improvement works along the Sir John Golding Road in St Andrew.
The contract was awarded to Chin’s Construction Company.
