Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Big news in dancehall circles! International dancehall superstar Mavado, aka The Gully Gad, has reportedly made a major move toward clearing his long-standing legal troubles after meeting with police on Wednesday morning.
Reports are that the meeting took place at the Constant Spring Police Station in St. Andrew, where the entertainer addressed the outstanding warrant that had been issued for his arrest.
According to information obtained by McKoy’s News, the warrant was vacated, meaning it’s no longer in effect.
Attorney Hugh Wildman, who represents the artiste, confirmed that law enforcement appears to have no further interest in pursuing the matter.
“It seems clear now that the police have closed the file on Mavado,” Wildman told reporters confidently.
Head of the St. Andrew North Police, Superintendent Randy Sweeney, echoed the same sentiment — officially declaring the matter closed.
The warrant had stemmed from a 2018 case of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but sources say the complainant never took further steps to advance the matter.
Social media went into meltdown Tuesday night when photos and videos began circulating showing Mavado back on Jamaican soil after nearly seven years away!
The entertainer reportedly landed at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston and later met with two high-level Government officials, who are said to have welcomed him home and encouraged calm and peace during his return.
With his legal clouds seemingly lifted, fans across Jamaica and the diaspora are already calling it “The Gully Gad’s grand homecoming.”
McKoy’s News will continue to monitor this developing story as Mavado reconnects with his homeland and the wider dancehall community.
