Jamaica News: The human resource records in some 30 ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) are expected to be uploaded on the new MyHR+ digital data system by January 2021.
Finance and the Public Service Minister, Dr. the Hon. Nigel Clarke, made the disclosure while providing an update on the Government’s Public Sector Transformation Programme (PSTP) at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston on Thursday (February 7),
He said the Jamaica Constabulary Force and Tax Administration Jamaica are being targeted for transition to MyHR+ by March 2019.
This will precede phase-two implementation of the system, targeting 16 additional MDAs over an 18-month period, beginning in July.
They will add to the 12 MDAs that are currently using MyHR+. They are the Office of the Prime Minister; Cabinet Office; Ministry of Finance and the Public Service; Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries; National Housing Trust; Office of the Services Commission; Jamaica Customs Agency; Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency; Transport Authority; Aeronautical Telecommunications Limited; Accountant General’s Department: and e-Gov Limited.
“The project team is now assessing entities that want to be in that second phase,” the Minister said.
Full deployment of the system across government will transform manual human resource management operations, resulting in the digitisation of approximately 100,000 public sector officers’ HR records.
Implementation of MyHR+ will enable public officers to access payroll records; revise personal information, such as changes in home address; access information on vacation and other categories of leave entitlements; and simplify and accelerate the pension application and payment process, among other features.
Dr. Clarke emphasised that this component of the PSTP is a “priority pillar”, and represents “material progress” in the thrust to improve service delivery across government.
“We need the support of everyone to ensure that phase-two implementation of MyHR+ can be done successfully and on time,” he added.
PSTP is being spearheaded by the Transformation Implementation Unit (TIU).
