St. Elizabeth, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) –The police have confirmed that a Balaclava man who was seen in a disturbing viral video threatening to murder political opponents if the PNP loses North East St. Elizabeth in the upcoming September 3 General Election has been formally charged.
The accused has been identified as 40-year-old Giovannie Skeen, otherwise called ‘Mother Love’, of a Balaclava address in St. Elizabeth.
Skeen has been slapped with a charge of Use of Audiovisual Communication to Promote Violence, following a tense operation carried out in his community on Wednesday, August 20.
In the now-viral video, Skeen is seen ranting angrily, vowing that if the PNP (People’s National Party) loses in North East St. Elizabeth, he is prepared to “turn the world into Haiti” — a chilling reference to the ongoing gang warfare, kidnappings, and bloodshed plaguing the Caribbean nation.
The accused didn’t stop there. He also made direct threats, referencing “matic and rifle”, and boldly declared that he was ready to “murder people fi mi party.”
Police say Skeen was taken into custody without incident, and charged following a question and answer session. His court date is currently being finalized.
The North East St. Elizabeth seat is being contested by Zulieka Jess, who is representing the PNP in the upcoming general elections.
Lawmen are urging the public to refrain from making violent threats, especially in the highly sensitive political season, warning that such actions will not be tolerated.
