Munga Honorable’s Bail Extended Again in Ongoing Murder Case

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dancehall entertainer Munga Honorable, born Damian Rhoden, had his bail extended to June 24 after appearing in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston on Tuesday to answer to murder charges.

Rhoden, along with co-accused Sherdian Gordon, is charged in connection with the 2017 killing of Cleveland Smith, a relative of veteran dancehall artist Mr. Vegas.

Although the matter was scheduled for mention, a trial date could not be set due to several issues, including the absence of key witnesses. As a result, Justice Leighton Pusey ordered that both men’s bail be extended until their next court appearance.

The fatal incident occurred on Molynes Road in Kingston 20, following an alleged confrontation at a dance held in the Ackee Walk area of St Andrew. According to investigators, Smith was approached by a group of men—one reportedly armed—when a dispute escalated into violence. Smith sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The case, which has faced multiple delays over the years, remains under close public scrutiny due to the high-profile nature of the accused.
