Thomson, Georgia — Kobe Williams, 27, and her newborn twins, Khyzier and Khazmir, were tragically killed when a tree crashed through their trailer home during Hurricane Helene on September 30.
As the Category 4 storm tore through Georgia, a tree crashed into their trailer, killing all three as they sheltered inside. The twins, just over a month old, are the youngest-known victims of the storm, which has claimed more than 200 lives across six states. Helene, one of the deadliest hurricanes in recent U.S. history, caused widespread destruction and flooding across the Southeast. Emergency teams continue to search for survivors and manage recovery efforts.
Heavy rains, high winds, and flooding left many areas, including Georgia and North Carolina, devastated. The storm has caused billions of dollars in damage, with thousands displaced from their homes.
