A Westmoreland woman and her daughter were rushed to hospital and treated for gunshot wounds on Thursday afternoon, January 13, after armed men invaded sections of Shrewsbury community, in Westmoreland.
The identities of the two injured victims are being withheld, but investigators revealed that they have since been treated at hospital, and admitted in serious, but stable conditions.
Reports by the Whithorn police are that about 3:00pm, both victims were in their community when they were ambushed, and attacked by two men armed with handguns.
The gunmen opened fire, hitting the mother and her daughter, before making their escape from the area, allegedly on a motorcycle. The two victims were rushed to the Savanna-la-mar hospital, where they were treated and admitted.
