Missing Hanover Man Found Burnt to Death in Motor Vehicle

A Hanover man who went missing from his community in Sandy Bay, Montpellier, since last Tuesday, February 23, has been discovered burnt to death in his motor vehicle, which was discovered at a lonely section of his community on Sunday, February 28.

He has been identified as 43-year-old Donald Oliver Mullings otherwise called ‘Gary’, a Steelman of Barnes Yard, in Sandy Bay, Montpellier, also in Hanover.

Reports are that, Mullings was last seen alive by his girlfriend, early last Tuesday morning, when he left his home at Barnes Yard, and informed her that he was going to work.

Later that morning he was spotted along Montpellier Road, but was not seen or heard from since then, and neither was his motor car seen.

The incident was reported to the Sandy Bay police, and several searches carried out to locate the missing Steelworker, which all went unsuccessful.

The police also confirmed that a missing person report was filed on Wednesday, February 24, and several other searches were also conducted by them, to locate Mullings, which proved futile, until Sunday morning, when the gruesome discovery was made.

Reports are that at about 8:30 am, a community member was on his way to his farm at an isolated section of the community when he stumbled upon a burnt-out vehicle, with what appeared to be a burnt body on the inside.

The vehicle was seen abandoned in the middle of a dirt track, which was over a mile in-land at a forestry section of the community.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, it was discovered that the burnt vehicle belonged to Mullings,  and further investigation, led to the discovery of his burnt remains, which was lying in the rear of the vehicle, with what appeared to be multiple chop wounds.

The scene was processed and the burnt remains removed to the morgue for a post mortem examination.

The vehicle was also removed to the police station for exhibit.
