Montego Bay, Jamaica – Minister of Labor Distributes Cheques: The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Shahine Robinson on Friday morning presented over eighty persons with cheques in Montego Bay, St James.

The presentation took place at approximately 12:00 noon at the Temporary Labor office located along Cottage Road in Montego Bay. The 80 family members were presented with the cheques which represent disbursement of emergency grants to those who suffered severe damages in the recent flooding in Montego Bay.

Minister Robinson told media representatives that 150 families were slated to receive grants but cheques were only prepared based on the fact that the other recipients are experiencing temporary problems with their TRN cards.

The Minister further stated that in a short period of time, the ministry will sort out this minor issue and they will be back to present the remaining recipients with their emergency grants.
