Restraining order that was filed against Stephen Belafonte, the estranged husband of the America’s Got Talent (AGT) and former Spice Girls band member Mel B, have now been granted.

In our previous news, Mckoy’s News reported that the show host, had filed for divorce against her husband, but no specific reason was revealed. Sources speculated that the passing of her beloved father, who was suffering from cancer, may have lead to her filing for divorce. Other have claimed it was infidelity, but none was confirmed by Mel B or her husband.
MelB Says She Was Abused
Mel B has now revealed in court, that he husband was very abusive to her. She spoke of multiple allegations, where Belafonte had been beating her and threatening to sexually exploit her throughout the years – which lead to the restraining order being granted.
According to the former Spice Girl, in November 2007, Belafonte placed his hands around her neck and began choking her, slammed her down into the hardwood floors – Mel B further stated that since she reached new levels of success, “he would beat me down to let me know he was in charge.” It is said he abused her during the taping of Australian version of The XFactor in July of 2012.
She went on to state how her producer husband Stephen Belafonte punched her after TV and days after her performance with the Spice Girls Olympics appearances, and threatened to release sex tapes.
Husband Belafonte Got the Nanny Pregnant
Mel’s suicide attempt in December 2014, came in the midst of filming for the XFactor finals, and seven months after Belafonte allegedly got their German nanny Lorraine Gilles pregnant.


In the court documents, she alleges: “I later discovered that respondent was having sex with Lorraine and was paying her inordinate amounts of money” and wanted them all to live together before she gets an abortion.
She also claims that he filmed them having sex, sometimes secretly, and repeatedly threatened to release video publicly or to disrupt her business plans. Brown is asking a judge to prevent Belafonte from releasing the video.
Belafonte vehemently denied the allegations, saying “Someone’s set me up to look like a bad guy”
The court granted her the restraining order and she has full custody of her children.
A hearing on the temporary restraining order is set for 24 April.
