Jamaica News, Montego Bay: Public Apology – McKoy’s News would like to make a public apology to friends and family of slain Green Island school student, Kehian Pryce, for mistakenly using his photograph on an article entitled “Pinky Fatally Shot by Police in Granville“.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused his family, and want the public to know that Pryce was a well behaved young man, who was respected by each and everyone in the community of Negril, in Westmoreland.
His photograph was mistakenly placed on an article where one of St. James most want men, Amoy “Pinky” Young, was shot and killed in Granville, St James, on Thursday morning. Pryce was an honest and hardworking student who was not involved in any form of criminal activities.
The 18-year-old student who attended the Green Island High School in Hanover, was shot and killed by gunmen in his community, in Negril Westmoreland, on Thursday night, March 21.
Reports reaching our newsroom are that shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Pryce and another teen were sitting on a bench in a neighbor’s yard in Hermitage district, when two men rode up on a motorcycle.
One of the men alighted from the motorcycle and brandished a firearm. The gunman opened fire hitting Pryce multiple times.
The wounded teen and his friend managed to run from the yard, but he collapsed a short distance away in a neighboring yard. The gunman then made his escape on the waiting motorcycle.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the wounded teen was transported to the Savanna-la-mar hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
