Masicka Delivers Commanding Performance at Sybaritic Weekend I

The atmosphere was electric at The Aqueducts of Rose Hall in Montego Bay on Friday night as dancehall star Masicka headlined the Sybaritic Weekend event, on the night aptly named “Sparks.”

The event, which was held in Montego Bay for the first time, saw a vibrant crowd captivated by Masicka’s commanding presence and dynamic performance. Masicka, whose real name is Javaun Fearon, hails from Portmore in St. Catherine. Over the past decade, he has established himself as a powerhouse in the dancehall scene, known for his lyrical prowess and energetic stage presence. His hits, such as “Image” and “Update,” have resonated with fans both locally and internationally, cementing his status as a top-tier artist.

During the event, the “Pack a Matches” artiste took the audience on a journey through his impressive catalog, delivering standout performances of crowd favorites. The highlight of the night was his performance of the 2017 hit “10 Outta 10,” set on the Money Mix riddim, which had the women singing along to every word. The Calabar High School alumnus’s ability to connect with the audience and command the stage showcased why he remains a beloved figure in dancehall music.

Sybaritic Weekend comprises a star-studded lineup. The three-day event features performances by Bayka, Cashan, and Eddy G Bomba. On July 28, international stars Akon and Kranium will headline “Diamond Dreamz,” adding to the excitement. Soca star Destra, along with numerous other local and international talents, will also grace the stage, ensuring a diverse and extraordinary experience for both artists and fans.
