A fatal traffic incident involving a 13-year-old student is under investigation by police in Manchester following a collision on Friday afternoon in the May Day community.
The deceased has been identified as Lakeea Thompson, a resident of the parish and a student of Victor Dixon High School.
According to reports from investigators, the incident occurred about 3:35 p.m. when the teenager was hit by a vehicle while in the district.
She was taken to hospital for treatment but later died from her injuries.
Police confirmed that the 45-year-old truck driver has been warned for prosecution in connection with the incident.
The Mandeville Traffic Department is continuing its probe into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
